2 cans tuna (6 ½ oz/ 185g) or salmon, drained and flaked1 ½ cups (375mL) shredded Cheddar cheese2/3 cup (150mL) Bick’s® Tangy Dill Relish½ cup (125mL) chopped celery2 tbsp (30mL) finely chopped onion1/3 cup (75mL) mayonnaise1/2 tsp (2 mL) garlic salt8 (8) hot dog buns or crusty rolls, split
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)2. Combine all ingredients except buns. Mix well.3. Fill buns with tuna mixture. Wrap individually in foil. Bake in preheated oven for 12 minutes. If desired, open foil and bake 3 minutes longer to crisp buns.
1. Tuna buns, wrapped in foil, are great cooked on the barbeque.
I have used this for many years but since my husband does not like dill pickles I use Bick's reliah and also add chopped olives. It is one of our favourites. BDW
make sure no-one is near you 'coz after trying this I yelled out WOW....stale buns & tasteless tuna come to life with this recipe, fer sure....am goin' for my third tunabun, hope I don't fall down the stairs....
