1/3 cup (75mL) butter, softened1 loaf French bread, sliced lengthwise in half1 lb (500 g) sliced ham, salami or pastrami1 can tomato paste (5 ½ oz/156 mL)½ cup (125mL) Bick’s® Zesty Onion Relish½ cup (125mL) green pepper, diced¼ cup (50mL) GATTUSO® or HABITANT® Stuffed Olives, chopped1 green onions, chopped¾ tsp (3mL) dried basil¼ tsp (1mL) dried oregano2 cups (500mL) shredded mozzarella cheese2 medium tomatoes, sliced1/3 cup (75mL) grated Parmesan cheese
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).2. Spread butter on cut surfaces on bread. Place on baking sheet. Arrange meat on both bread halves.3. Combine tomato paste, relish, pepper, olives, onion and seasonings. Spread over meat.4. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes. Top with mozzarella cheese, tomato and Parmesan. Bake 3-5 minutes longer, or until cheese melts. To serve, cut each bread half into 8 slices.
